KP Club, Pocklington

A planning application has been submitted for the second phase of twenty two and three bedroom Holiday Lodges at the Kilnwick Percy Golf Club near York. The first phase incorporating a new Clubhouse and Restaurant and fourteen Lodges has been awarded the “Commercial Developments and Major Schemes Chairman’s Award 2010” for enhancing the East Riding of Yorkshire. The second phase continues the improvement and development of the Club into a world class venue where architectural design is paramount to its success.

Strelizia, Cathedral Quarter, Lincoln

This amazing house has recently been transformed by the installation of the frameless glazing and the large sliding/folding doors. Despite the difficulties of installing the large irregular shaped glass units under the projecting roofs, the installation went without problems. The completion of the enclosure shows, for the first time, the true form of the building. The final coat of render is now planned, which will complete the exterior and work will shortly commence on the interior fit-out.

Lincolnshire FA Headquarters

Work is progressing on the new headquarters building for the Lincolnshire FA at Nettleham. Work is now 6 weeks ahead of programme. Photographs show Lincs FA Chairman Ray Tinkler and his wife and County Secretary John Griffin visiting the works in progress.

Wecando Flooring

Work has now been completed ahead of schedule and under budget on the construction of a new head office and storage facility for Wecando Flooring at Nettleham and is due to be handed over to the client in May 2010.

David Hill Walsall

£2m project to ‘Kick Start’ the regeneration of West Midlands. A planning submission will shortly be submitted for the Aldridge Prime Project – a town centre redevelopment of the former Magistrates court in Aldridge (Walsall). The Courts are to be refurbished to form a restaurant and high quality business incubator workspaces. A new purpose designed block accommodates ten luxury apartments. LK2 have worked closely with developers, Aldridge based Hills Ltd, to create this exciting regeneration project.

Deepdale Enterprise Park

Works are nearing completion to the third unit at Deepdale Enterprise Park, Nettleham. The latest unit for WeCanDo Flooring - specialists in flooring of all types for the commercial sector, will enable the company to develop and expand their core business. The new £500k prestigious offices and warehouse facilities sit perfectly in harmony with the surrounding agricultural setting.

Waterside Shopping Centre, Lincoln.

Planning approval has just been granted for three new restaurants and cafes totalling 750 sm. At the Waterside Shopping Centre in Lincoln, which is owned by Prupim – the global Real Estate Investment arm of Prudential plc. The new units are located at the Lower Ground Level accessible from the mall and fronting the riverside walkway with external seating areas covered by a dynamic stretched fabric canopy.

Dale Lui

Dale Lui A B Eng Dale trained at the Hull School of Architecture, where he first met Andrew Kitchen, and is an Associate Member of The Association of Building Engineers. He has worked for a number of prominent architectural practices notably Percy Thomas, Nottingham and Benoy Ltd, Newark, for a number of years before establishing his own practice. Like Andrew, since forming the business in 1986 Dale has been responsible for a diverse range of projects within the practice. Dale’s key responsibilities include the management of LK2 Architects LLP and its joint venture development company RD Developments Ltd. RD Developments has evolved into a reputable developer and has been involved in a number of developments since its formation in 2003. Burton Mews, its first development, was short listed for a BDA (Brick Design Award) National Award in 2004. This active involvement in development has enabled LK2 Architects to offer its Clients a unique perspective and aids LK2 in providing its Clients with the optimum solution, through design, for their projects.

Andrew Kitchen

Andrew Kitchen trained at Leeds Polytechnic and Hull Schools of Architecture and qualified as an Architect in 1985. Andrew is a member of the RIBA and is registered with the Architects Registration Board. He worked as a Project Architect with DSSP in Leicester, and Benoy Ltd in Newark, being responsible for a variety of Residential and Commercial projects including Large Scale City Centre Re-Developments, Retail Business Parks, Offices and Residential Developments. Since forming the practice, with Dale Lui, in 1986, Andrew has been responsible for a wide range of projects including Residential one-off houses to complex City Centre Housing and Apartment Developments, plus Barn Conversions and Educational and Commercial Projects.

Paul Starbuck

Paul Starbuck was born in 1959 and educated at Carres Grammer School in Sleaford and at Manchester University where he qualified as an architect in 1984. Paul is a member of the RIBA and registered with the Architects Registration Board. He has had 20 years previous experience at Benoy Ltd in Newark where he held the position of Senior Associate Director leading teams on large commercial projects in the UK, Ireland and Europe. Paul has been directly responsible for a diverse range of completed projects including The Waterside Shopping Centre in Lincoln, Shopping Centre refurbishments at The Idlewells Centre in Sutton-in-Ashfield, The Eagle Centre in Derby and Kings Walk in Gloucester, Retail Parks at The Beehive Centre in Cambridge and The Tollgate Centre in Colchester, a Factory Outlet Centre in Doncaster and an integrated Leisure destination at Cardigan Fields in Leeds.
